About Leo

Photo of Leo

Leo Carroll lives in Westford, Massachusetts,
And is a former military officer and
Construction executive. He’s married and a father and
Grandfather, and regards himself to be a
Private poet. He wrote his first poem when he was
In the third grade in elementary school. He is
A member of Blessed Trinity Parish, encompassing
Westford and Littleton. It is in this parish where his spiritual life is daily
Shaped, nurtured, and refreshed. From his perspective,
God’s beauty exists everywhere, and because of
Beauty’s pervasive presence, hope and healing are also
Everywhere. He feels beauty is manifest in all
Aspects of Creation, and, most importantly, can be seen
And found in the human nature of each of us . . .
He considers the innate purity of human nature
To be a gift we receive at birth, and that
Our human form has the potential to bloom into
A magnificent, flowering tree as if from a mustard seed.
Leo frequently writes at Plum Island in the
Northeast corner of Massachusetts.
He is also an occasional visitor to the woods
Of Maine and New Hampshire, where
He is happiest if he finds an old stone wall
To linger against. He also travels to the seacoast of
Down East Maine, where a wonderful day is to simply sit
On the sand and rocks. He has written about
Walden Pond, and considers its peridot waters to
Have mystical qualities. He exercises at the Westford Regency
Health Club, and loves to garden, with his
Favorite flowers being the snapdragon and daylily. He
Frequently goes to the state of Washington, and
Has written with awe about the solitude and
Peace of Whidbey Island. He loves trees, and marvels
At the healing powers of the ginkgo and river birch.
He is on an endless search for that
Perfect autumn maple leaf.
